A Christmas in Space

T’was the night before Christmas,
Everything was grand,
For Tes and Myles,
Something special was planned,
A crowd gathers,
Everything is in place,
NASA is giving the gift of Christmas in space!

Inside the cockpit,
Cozy and tight,
The two lovers grinned as they prepared for flight,
Merry voices crackle on radios,
The rocket stands tall and staunch,
Onlookers cheer with the ignition and launch!

Flames roar with thunder,
Tes and Myles hold paws tight,
The city shrinks from under,
Replaced with a starry sky alight,
Certainly a spectacular sight on this Christmas eve night!

Now high in the stratosphere,
Eyes wide with wonder sincere,
For these two,
The cosmos had never been so clear,
Our jolly astronauts unbuckle,
They float and spin freely around,
Laughter fills the cockpit and radios,
What joy they have found!

“Let’s not dilly dally!”,
Tes said with elation,
“We still have to set up the Christmas space decorations!”
“Already on it, dear!”
Myles chimed with a grin ear to ear,
The cougar caracal set the controls to auto-steer,

Lights were strung up,
The tree floated whimsically about,
But there was still a nativity scene to figure out,
“Check out these animated holograms!” Myles said feeling blown away,
“I like this more traditional set” Tes replied with a warm smile,
In her paws were small figures of painted clay,
“Why don’t we use both?” Myles proposed with a hug,
“Wonderful idea!” Tes agreed,
Nuzzling close with love,

Dawn rose on Christmas day,
Tes reenacted “A Christmas Story” in an animal cracker play,
Myles drank cocoa,
Warm with delight,
When suddenly Santa Claus himself flew by on the right!

“Merry Christmas you two!” his jolly voice boomed on the radio bright and stark,
“Merry Christmas!”...”Yeah uh, Merry Christmas!” chimed in Rory and Hart!
“Merry Christmas you guys!” Tes and Myles cheered,
Feeling joyous and gay,
“I love you, Tes”
“I love you, Myles”
And so this has been the tale with tails,
Of a Christmas in space!
